Have you ever felt out of place or like you didn’t belong? Felt like maybe there was more out there for you – to really fulfill your destiny? If you said yes, you and Smurfette have something in common!
On April 7, join Smurfette alongside her best pals Hefty, Brainy and Clumsy as they venture across the Forbidden Forest in order to uncover the bigger, smurfiest secret in all of the Smurf world! Of course, it wouldn’t be a Smurf movie if they weren’t dealing with Gargamel and his sidekicks along the way.
My girls and I recently checked out a screening of the new Smurfs: The Lost Village movie and I have to say, we loved it! The movie is full of laugh out loud moments as well as touching on points of deep thought and feelings.
This fully animated film is a reimagined take on a classic cartoon that was very beloved to me as a child – so I was a bit hesitant going in – would they uphold the love of these characters and move them along emotionally? Or would they be unrecognizable? I am so happy to say that they did a great job maintaining the nostalgia factor, but at the same time, introducing some new faces (LOVE Nosey Smurf – every time he cracked me up!) to keep it interesting.
I highly recommend taking the family to the movie theater for this family-friendly movie for a fun night! Smurfs: The Lost Village hits the theaters nationwide on April 7! (P.S. The movie is rated PG – there is some “rude humor” as it is called – but I guess I just found it funny!)
I really enjoyed the voice-acting in the film – some voices you may recognize include:
Demi Lovato (Smurfette), Rainn Wilson (Gargamel), Joe Manganiello (Hefty Smurf), Jack McBrayer (Clumsy Smurf), Danny Pudi (Brainy Smurf), with Mandy Patinkin (Papa Smurf) (there are some extra voices in there that you will know – but I can’t share yet so I don’t ruin that Smurftastic surprise!).
